Week 5 Recap: Vikings @ Rams

Vikings improve their record to 5-0 against the lowly Rams...here are some random things I took away:

* I understand we were playing the Rams...but, I think Benny Sapp is the real deal. He reminds me of the second coming of Antoine Winfield...an aggressive corner that loves to tackle and has decent, but not great coverage skills. Of course it helps when the only legitimate threat the Rams have on offense is Steven Jackson.

* Donnie Avery's touchdown dance when the game was already in the bag for the Vikings...basically, just sums up why the Rams are a joke this year and could be the one to go 0 - 16 this year, if there is a team that accomplishes this feat again this year.

* Was Phil Loadholdt not playing because of performance or injury? I still haven't heard word on why he was mysteriously pulled from the starting line-up.

* I've been seeing a trend of opposing tight ends racking up some major yards against our defense. Is this because of the scheme of our defense or the lack of talent on the linebacker level? We haven't exactly faced top notch tight ends either up to this point of the year.

* The next three games (Baltimore, @ Pittsburgh and @ Green Bay) on the schedule will be good competitiion to see what to expect from this team from here on out.
